Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year to remember who we give thanks to.
Scripture tells us that no matter what we face, we are to rejoice always, to pray at all times, and to give thanks in all circumstances. That is God’s will for us.
This fun Bible verse wreath craft will help your kids remember 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV) says:
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Your child can cut out the verse frame and copy the verse in the version of your choice. As you make your wreath craft, discuss:
- To rejoice is to feel deep joy over who God is and what he has done in your life.
- What is something that you rejoice over?
- To pray without ceasing is to pray without stopping.
- What does that mean? You can’t pray when you sleep, but can you talk to God throughout the day?
- A circumstance can be an event or a situation.
- What circumstances does your family live in?
- How can you thank God in your circumstances today?
- What three things are God’s will in Jesus for you?
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 is a great Thanksgiving verse. Your kids can work on memorizing it as they make this fun wreath.

- Colored Cardstock (Fall Tones)
- White Cardstock
- Pencil
- Permanent Markers
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paper Plate
Creating Your Thanksgiving Wreath Craft
1) Print your Bible verse templates, write the verse, and prepare your wreath base.

Have your child copy 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 in the version of their choice onto the verse frame.
Print the wreath base circular template on cardstock, cut it out, and trace it onto the middle of a paper plate. Cut the circle out of the center of the paper plate. This will create the base for your wreath. You can also use thin cardboard to create the base as shown, if you’d like.
2) Cut out your leaves.
Trace your leaf templates onto fall-colored cardstock. Create enough leaves to fill the wreath. You can also cut out the half-leaves from the template to fill in gaps in the wreath.
Crease each leaf down the center to create a 3D effect, then unfold each leaf.
Use permanent makers to outline each leaf.
3) Create your leaf wreath.

Glue whole leaves to the wreath.

Slide half-leaves under the whole leaves to fill in the wreath. Glue the leaves down to make the wreath sturdy and full.
4) Glue the 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Bible verse frame to the Thanksgiving wreath.
Glue the 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Bible verse frame to the leaf wreath, as shown.
Display your child’s Thanksgiving wreath somewhere they will see it often. Work on memorizing 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 together!
