About the Bible for Kids
As Christian parents, we want our kids to know and understand God’s Word.

We’re getting the message that our kids won’t learn Scripture in just a hour or two once or twice a week at church.

We know it’s our job to teach the Bible to our kids.

In my book, Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible, I talk about how you can teach Scripture to your children: how to overcome your objections and fears, how to be faithful in your teaching, and how to set up a family Bible study habit.

Teach About the Bible for Kids in a Way They’ll Understand

One of the ways we can teach our kids about Scripture is to read it with them. Another important thing we can do is teach our kids about the Bible. We want our kids to be able to understand the context that Scripture was written in.

Consider the stories of Joseph, Moses’ birth, and the Exodus, for example. Those stories are set largely in Egypt. In fact, Egypt is referenced throughout the Bible.

But do our kids really have any way to understand ancient Egypt if we don’t teach them about it?

Teaching our kids about the Bible does more than add a richness to the stories they read–although it does add depth and understanding. Teaching about the Bible helps our kids better understand what the original authors intended to say–and how the original audience heard their message.

You can use fun resources to help you teach your kids about the Bible. Not only will it enrich their learning, they’ll better understand what the original human authors of Scripture meant to convey to their original audience.

Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible

Love the Bible for Kids | A resource you'll love!

You want your kids to learn and love the Bible.

You want to teach the Bible…

As parents, we deeply desire the best for our kids. We look for the right schools, we make them eat right and exercise, and we get them involved in extracurricular activities. We take our job as parents seriously.

But are we also putting our time and energy into
teaching them the Bible? Giving them the life-changing, soul-nourishing words of Scripture is not only doable, it’s an essential part of parenting kids for Jesus. And the good news is, studying God’s Word as a family doesn’t have to be difficult!

2 Timothy 2:15, ESV, says:

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,
a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Our job, as parents who love Jesus, is to help our kids become approved workers, unashamed and rightly handling the word of truth.

The good news? Teaching the Bible isn’t hard. Your family can learn the Bible together.

…and you can!

A Crash Course in Teaching the Bible to Your Kids
