At first, the idea of taking my kids through Scripture was overwhelming. After all, raising children, preparing snacks and meals, getting everyone to activities, and also teaching God’s Word to children can be a lot to put on any mom’s plate.
So, I thought, what if I had an open-and-go read-and-discuss plan? Then I could read the Bible to my kids for just a few minutes each day, lead them in discussion, and pray. Maybe, I decided, we could work on a memory verse and a craft each week, too.
That is how I found myself dejectedly standing in the theology section of our local giant bookstore, searching for the perfect family discipleship resource. I had already spent half a day in our state’s homeschool curriculum shop. I couldn’t find what I wanted in either place. As I picked up a fat overview of the Bible, I realized that I could put together a Bible survey resource for our family. I became more excited as I thought about the engaging elements it could include. I realized that I could even write the curriculum based on classical Christian educational philosophy, so that my kids could go through the Bible several times, learning at a deeper level as they aged.
A month or so later, I began taking our children through the Bible, using Bible Road Trip™ as our guide. As I did, I shared the curriculum with other families. Soon, Bible Road Trip was being used by families across the world.
You can take your family through Scripture, cover-to-cover. Bible Road Trip™ can help.
