He Is Risen! Your kids will love this stained glass cross craft. The cross lamp is a fun way to celebrate the fact Christ is risen.

He Is Risen Stained Glass Cross Craft
As believers, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is truly one of the most exciting stories in the Bible. Not only did Jesus, the Son of God and God the Son, die in our place–taking the punishment for our sins, he also rose from the dead.

Jesus conquered both sin and death. He is risen!

He Is Risen

As you prepare to make your cross lantern, read Luke 24:1-12.

Discuss with your children:

  • What happened before this story? What did Jesus do for sinners?
  • Dead bodies stink so people in 1st century Rome would cover them in sweet smelling spices as a way of showing their love to the person who had died.
  • Where was Jesus?
  • What did the men in dazzling apparel say?
  • Who went to the tomb and discovered it empty? Who did they tell?
  • How did most of the apostles take the news? What did Peter do when told about Jesus?
  • What is your response to the news that Jesus is risen? Is it excitement or skepticism?
  • Jesus became fully God and fully man so that if you believe on him and confess it with your mouth (Romans 10:9), you will be saved from your sins! That’s so exciting!

Talk about God’s great plan for salvation and why we celebrate that Jesus is risen while you make your cross lantern.

He Is Risen Tissue Paper Cross Craft | Instructions

Before you get started on the craft, read and discuss the passage above.

1) Print Your Stained Glass Cross Craft Template.

He Is Risen Stained Glass Cross Craft

Cut out the rectangular template for your lamp. Be sure to cut only the outside edges–the inner vertical lines are for folds. Cut out the interior scene–the letters and the background of the three crosses.

2) Trace the He Is Risen Scene.

Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible

Looking for a family discipleship book that will give you a crash course in leading your kids through God’s Word? I’ve got you covered.

Love the Bible for Kids | A resource you'll love!

You want your kids to learn and love the Bible.

You want to teach the Bible…

As parents, we deeply desire the best for our kids. We look for the right schools, we make them eat right and exercise, and we get them involved in extracurricular activities. We take our job as parents seriously.

But are we also putting our time and energy into
teaching them the Bible? Giving them the life-changing, soul-nourishing words of Scripture is not only doable, it’s an essential part of parenting kids for Jesus. And the good news is, studying God’s Word as a family doesn’t have to be difficult!

2 Timothy 2:15, ESV, says:

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,
a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Our job, as parents who love Jesus, is to help our kids become approved workers, unashamed and rightly handling the word of truth.

The good news? Teaching the Bible isn’t hard. Your family can learn the Bible together.

…and you can!

A Crash Course in Teaching the Bible to Your Kids

Danika Cooley’s book, Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible, will give you the tools and confidence to study the Bible as a family. It will help you identify and overcome your objections and fears, give you a crash course in what the Bible is all about and how to teach it, and provide the guidance you need to set up a family Bible study habit.

You will finish this book feeling encouraged and empowered to initiate and strengthen your child’s relationship with the Lord through His Word.
