If you are pro-life, you care about babies–and about their mothers. Pregnancy Resource Centers are a wonderful way to help women you may otherwise never have the opportunity to meet.

Pro-Life Pregnancy Resource Centers
Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) are non-profit clinics with a focus on offering support to pregnant moms.
Women finding themselves in need during an unexpected pregnancy can receive both medical help and advice, as well as material support. I’ll never forget the first time I took a pregnant teen to our local PRC. She met with a medical professional, received help signing up for aid, and was ushered to a large room lined with maternity clothing where she was able to choose a new wardrobe to clothe her growing belly.
Pregnancy Resource Centers offer a number of tools for pregnant moms, which can include:
- Pregnancy tests
- Ultrasounds
- Health testing
- Parenting classes
- Resources like diapers and maternity clothes
Pregnancy Resource Centers are a wonderful way to offer aid to pregnant women who may need help to deliver and / or keep their baby.

Ways to Support Your Local Pregnancy Resource Center
There are a number of ways to help your local Pregnancy Resource Center. Of course, one of the best ways to help is to ask your local center what they need. To get you started thinking about how to help, here are a few ideas:
1) Volunteer!
Your local PRC has a lot of needs. Your kids may even be able to serve with you.
The need will vary depending on your Pregnancy Resource Center. They may welcome help:
- Weeding and planting flowers
- Answering phones and greeting clients
- Teaching parenting classes
- Helping sort and distribute resources to pregnant moms
- Cleaning the center
2) Hold a Supply Drive
We attended a church that would hand out plastic baby bottles once a year. Congregants would fill them with quarters or dollar bills and return them a few weeks later.
I’ve always like holding supply drives. They are such a wonderful way for our kids to see God meeting needs.
What do PRCs need the most? Church and community members can donate:
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Infant formula
- Maternity clothing
- Newborn sleepers and onesies
Supply drives can be fun for children to help you plan, through the church, online, or even at a local shop or parking lot.
3) Pray for the Pregnancy Resource Center
Never understimate the importance of going to our great God in prayer. Here are some ways you can pray for your local Pregnancy Resource Center:
- Pray for the PRC board, for wisdom and discernment.
- Pray that God will meet the financial needs of the center.
- Pray that God will send volunteers, and that he will bless those volunteers.
- Pray for the women and teen girls who find themselves in a situation where they need the PRC to help support them. Ask God to bring them to salvation and to support them and their babies.
- Pray for the unborn babies, that they will be carried to term.
- Pray for godly homes for babies saved.
- Pray for the protection of the center, the workers, and the volunteers.
4) A Resource for Pregnancy Resource Centers
Last, but not least, you can give your local Pregnancy Resource Center a resource that can help pregnant women and their families understand the wonder of the life that God has created within their wombs.
Wonderfully Made: God’s Story of Life from Conception to Birth is a science- and Scripture-filled picture book for kids ages 5-11. The book is told from the perspective of a mother telling her child about his or her development in the womb week-by-week. In fact, Wonderfully Made is written to help parents meet the theological, scientific, and relational purposes of teaching kids about life in the womb.
I love the way many women, pastors, and families have given bundles of Wonderfully Made to their local pregnancy resource centers. What a wonderful gift for a young woman contemplating the life God is growing inside of her. She can see exactly what the Bible says about God’s creation of preborn life. She can also see the way God is growing the baby inside of her on each given week, all written in a loving, caring story–told in the voice of a protective mother. Those words may very well become the same ones she later uses to tell her baby the story of their own journey in the womb, and of their birth.
I have bundled packs available at Thinking Kids Press for just this purpose. We have faithful Christians who give packs of Wonderfully Made to their local PRC, and then renew their gift when the clinic runs out.
Pregnancy resource centers offer a wonderful way to help pregnant women in need. You can help women through these wonderful places of hope!
