We all need to be reminded of God’s great plan for us.
Bible Verses About Pregnancy
Scripture is full of verses about pregnancy and life in the womb.
What a blessing that is! After all, pregnancy is a time of expectant waiting and preparing. Sometimes, it is the cause of anxiety and fear.
I love the fact that God has given us Bible verses about pregnancy that we can share to encourage one another.
Bible Verses About Life in the Womb
When I wrote Wonderfully Made: God’s Story of Life from Conception to Birth, I filled the pages with both science and with Scripture. It’s so exciting for 5-8 year olds to hear the story of their time in the womb, alongside Bible verses about life in the womb. Those same verses are wonderful encouragement to expectant moms!
Here are a few Bible verses about pregnancy and life in the womb. These are in ESV, but you can look them up in any version you would like!
‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.’” – Jeremiah 1:5a
You clothed me with skin and flesh,
and knit me together with bones and sinews.
You have granted me life and steadfast love,
and your care has preserved my spirit.” – Job 10:11-12
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.” – Psalm 51:6
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.” – Ecclesiastes 11:5
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,

The Lord called me from the womb,
from the body of my mother he named my name.” – Isaiah 49:1b
Upon you I have leaned from before my birth;
you are he who took me from my mother’s womb.
My praise is continually of you.” – Psalm 71:6
And, a verse about our second birth when we trust in Jesus as our Lord and Savior!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” – 1 Peter 1:3
What a wonderful truth it is that God forms us and cares for us, right from the moment of our conception! If you are waiting for your little one to “arrive”, take comfort in the fact that God cares for them even while they develop in your womb.
