It is so important that our children know they are specially hand-created by the Creator of the Universe!
“I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made!”
When my kids were young, I would tell them the story of how they were created by God, how they grew in the womb, and how they were born. I would tell them how much we loved and wanted them. They loved their baby-in-the-womb stories!
Now, if you know our family, you might think that tradition is a little strange, since only two of our four children were actually created and grown in my own womb. But, I know exactly what Scripture tells us about God’s creation of life from conception to birth. I also know what science says. So, I was able to confidently share the story of life in the womb with my heart children as well!
Psalm 139:13-15, ESV, says:
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
My children grew up being able to confidently state, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made!” I wanted that for your kids, too.
I wrote Wonderfully Made: God’s Story of Life from Conception to Birth as a way to enable parents to tell their children a science- and Scripture-filled story of their time in the womb. The illustrations help kids envision the way they grew as God prepared them for birth.

Thank you so much for being an important part of the success of Wonderfully Made. Thank you, too, for helping children understand God’s plan for life in the womb!

Ways to Use Wonderfully Made
Wonderfully Made: God’s Story of Life from Conception to Birth helps children understand the wondrous way God created them. With spreads showing their weekly development in the womb, they will read Scripture about God’s plan for them, about his role in their prenatal development, and learn scientific facts they can relate to.
Here are four ways you can use Wonderfully Made to bless your family and those in your community:
1) A Family Read Aloud
Children love hearing about how God created them in the womb! It’s a fabulous true story they benefit from hearing over and over again. Wonderfully Made gives families a fun way to share that story together over and over again.
The book is also a fun and useful tool for families expecting the introduction of a new sibling. Kids can follow along with the development of their coming brother or sister, week-by-week.
2) A Homeschool Unit Study on Fetal Development
One great way to help our kids learn the truth about God’s plan for life in the womb is to teach them about fetal development week-by-week, along with Bible verses that share the truths about preborn life.
You can download extra resources to go with the book. Your 5-8 year old kids will love this fun unit study on fetal development. They’ll study this important Bible teaching and fascinating science in a way that’s fun and engaging.
3) A Gift for Baby Showers and Baptisms
I love giving good, biblical children’s books to expecting moms. It’s a great way to help them build their family libraries!
Whether moms are waiting for their first blessing to arrive, or they are adding to a house full of children, Wonderfully Made is a great gift. Families can follow along with their own baby’s development in the womb. Later, they can read to their kids about how God planned for their life as he formed them in the womb.
Churches also give the book to kids at their baptism, at preschool graduation, or as a gift to new kindergarten students!
4) A Resource for Pregnancy Resource Centers
I love the way many women, pastors, and families have given bundles of Wonderfully Made to their local pregnancy resource centers. What a wonderful gift for a young woman contemplating the life God is growing inside of her. She can see exactly what the Bible says about God’s creation of preborn life. She can also see the way God is growing the baby inside of her on each given week, all written in a loving, caring story–told in the voice of a protective mother. Those words may very well become the same ones she later uses to tell her baby the story of their own journey in the womb, and of their birth.
I have bundled packs available at Thinking Kids Press for just this purpose. We have faithful Christians who give packs of Wonderfully Made to their local PRC, and then renew their gift when the clinic runs out.
There are lots of ways to use Wonderfully Made: God’s Story of Life from Conception to Birth! I want to thank you for helping me get the important message of God’s creation of life in the womb into the hands of the next generation.
