These board books about Jesus share an important message about who Jesus is in the life of your baby, toddler, or preschooler.

Board Books about Jesus
When my kids were little, they loved board books.

They especially loved board books that came in sets, had a drawer, were color-coded, and had great illustrations.

I especially loved board books about Jesus. I also really liked the board book sets that fit horizontally on the shelf.

Christian Focus sent me two sets of The Peek-a-Boo Bible with no expectations. This is my own opinion, and this is not a sponsored post.

Catherine Mackenzie has been writing Christian books for children for a long time, and her work is wonderful. She has a new, fun set of board books about Jesus for your kids that you’ll want to check out.

Peek-a-Boo Bible (Christian Focus Publications, 2018) has four cute little board books about Jesus in a sturdy drawer. Your children will have a good time reading each board book with you, but they will also relish the time they can spend pulling the drawer in and out and matching the bright color of each board book with it’s corresponding color in the drawer.

Board Books about Jesus

The Peek-a-Boo Bible has four little board books:

  • Jesus Saves (Theme: Jesus saves sinners from sin.)
  • Jesus Lives (Theme: Jesus is alive.)
  • Jesus Loves (Theme: Jesus loves… [insert a different people group here, like moms, children, etc.].)
  • Jesus Gives (Theme: Jesus gives love.)

Board Books about Jesus
Each Bible story board book centers on a theme rather than a Bible story. Every page of the book begins with the same sentence. Repetition is so important for little ones!

Every page then has another sentence to further explain the theme, and a short activity for your kids. The activities are simple, fun things like: How many birds can you see? or Where is the sad face?.

Illustrated by Ana Afonso, the Peek-a-Boo Bible is adorable. Each individual board book has a strong theme a small child can enjoy and understand. Taken together, the board books about Jesus share an important message about who Jesus is in the life of your baby, toddler, or preschooler.

Your kids will love the fun design and strong message of the Peek-a-Boo Bible. I plan to keep a few extra copies as gifts–I know they’ll be well received.

“As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” – Psalm 16:3, ESV

Christian History Matters for Our Kids.

History matters. Now, more than ever, we see how important it is for our children to know and understand history and the Bible.

Here’s why:

  • God is the sovereign ruler of all things. It’s important for our kids to see his hand in the history of nations and in the lives of both peasants and kings.
  • Christian history is the story of our family history. Our kids get to see how people who love Jesus follow him.
  • Understanding history can help our kids learn historic and biblical theology. They learn what the Bible says and what that means for us. They also see when the study of Scripture has taken important turns that have changed the Church.
  • Reading Christian biographies and history can be a wonderful way for kids to think outside their own time and culture. God’s Church spans centuries and includes people from every nation.
  • Christian biographies help kids consider their own faith, walk with Jesus, and the impact their witness may one day have on others–and on history.

Elementary-aged kids need middle grade resources that are fun, a little sassy, and that teach valuable lessons.
