Finding Jesus in the Old Testament
Kids love finding hidden pictures and the Jesus Moments picture books have hidden symbolism. Then, the book pivots and explains four ways that the life of the Old Testament hero points forward to Jesus.
For instance, in Jesus Moments: David, your children will be looking for crowns throughout the story of King David that indicate that some part of David’s story points forward to Jesus.
Ways that Alison Mitchell shows how David’s life points to Jesus:
- David was anointed with oil when God chose him to be the king of Israel. Jesus is the Christ, or Messiah, which means the anointed one. Both David and Jesus were chosen to by God to be King.
- David trusted God to help him fight Goliath and save God’s people. One the cross, Jesus saved God’s people from sin.
- David chose not to kill King Saul, his enemy. On the cross, Jesus prayed for his enemies.
- God promised David that someone from his family would be king forever. Jesus is the King from the line of David!
Alison Mitchell does a wonderful job showing how God used the lives of the Old Testament heroes to point toward Jesus.
