How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
When my youngest two boys were little, around the ages of 3 and 4, they would have periods of time when they would play with toys in their room. I purchased the Bible on CD, and I played it for them as they worked on blocks, LEGOs, or coloring. At night, we would go through their bedtime routine and after I tucked them in, I would play a few chapters for them while they fell asleep.
This was a routine we continued for years.
An Audio Bible Player that Will Change Your Child’s Life
I remember the first time my youngest started asking probing questions about Jonah and Job.
“Can this be real?” I wondered. “Does my three-year-old really listen to Scripture, understand what is happening, and trust in God’s guidance through his Word?”
The wonderful news is that God’s Word, indeed, is powerful, living, and active–in our lives, and in the lives of our children. When we help our kids store up God’s Word in their hearts, we help them guard against sin and against wandering away from God’s plan for their lives.

So, how can I make the bold statement that an audio Bible player will change your child’s life?
I can only say that because the Word of God is playing on it. I trust that God will plant his Word in your child’s heart and he will use it to his own good purposes, just as he did for my boys!
An Audio Bible for Kids | Designed for Safety and Focus!
The audio Bible CDs and CD player I used so long ago for my kids are now outdated and hard to access. Today, everything is trending toward apps, phones or tablets, or online access.
But is that really safe for our kids?
The truth is that as much as we work to make the internet safe so our children can access information, it is really a wild and sometimes dangerous place. So, how can you give your kids a safe, easy way to listen to God’s Word that allows them to be independent, but doesn’t put your children’s safety (or your expensive devices) at risk?
Towers of Light has a brilliant solution.
You see, with dedicated devices, Tower of Light has premiered a “Disconnected Discipleship” model that allows your children to learn from God’s Word on screenless, wireless hardware with no apps required.
With several options to choose from, Tower of Light’s Daily Bible Reader for Kids has:
No Apps:
- With a dedicated hardware environment that only plays the Bible options you have chosen, your child doesn’t need to use a phone or tablet.
- There are no subscription fees. You are just purchasing the audio Bible player you choose–a one time gift to your kids.
- Your kids will be offline, with no data tracking or personal profiling. Even better, no one can contact them through their audio player.
No Screens:
- The Daily Bible Reader for Kids does not emit blue light, which means it won’t mess up your child’s sleep patterns.
- It is also distraction-free. There are no dopamine-causing pop-ups, alerts, or distractions. Your child will just be able to play the Bible.
No Wi-Fi:
- Because the device is not connected to the internet, your child can take it anywhere… the car, a camping trip, or even to a mission field.
- My teen granddaughter likes to listen to hers on the bus, with headphones.
- There are no passwords, pairing issues, or software updates to deal with.
Rugged and Dependable:
- The Daily Bible Reader for Kids is impact- and water-resistant.
- The battery life is typically longer than 12 hours.
- All of the choices are small and portable, perfect for a backpack or the top of a dresser.
- If you want, you can even purchase a stuffed animal to hold your child’s device!
- That’s what my mom and I did for all my nieces and grandchildren for Christmas last year. Each child received their own stuffed animal and a Daily Bible Reader for Kids loaded with the ESV. It was a perfect gift, one I plan to continue giving as more grandkids reach their preschool years.
See what I mean? What a great option for your family! You can even choose the version of the Bible you would like to have preloaded on your device.
Two Audio Bible Player Options
Thinking Kids is dedicated to equipping you to teach the Bible and Christian history to your kids. In fact, my mission in writing is to help promote and increase biblical literacy. I am firmly convinced that no tool box should contain just one tool. That is the reason I wrote about so many ways to Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible in my book on discipling your children through Scripture.
It is so important that you study the Bible with your kids. It’s also vital that your children learn to make a daily habit of hearing and reading the Word of God on their own.
Choose one of these wonderful Daily Bible Reader for Kids options, set up a daily quiet time for your kids to listen, utilize the prescheduled through-the-Bible-in-a-year dates on the device, and you’ve helped establish a life-long habit for your children. It’s a habit that will change their lives, because God’s Word never returns void (see Isaiah 55:10-11).
1) Daily Bible Reader for Kids: Choose Your Bible Version
The Daily Bible Reader for Kids is perfect for your younger children. It comes with a one-year warranty, and it’s child-safe, impact- and water-resistant.
You can choose a player with the Bible loaded in KJV, NKJV, ESV, or NLT.
- For the NKJV, the device comes preloaded with M’Cheyne’s Bible reading plan, a 365-day schedule with readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, and Psalms.
- For the NLT, the device comes with the One Year Chronological New Living Translation.
- This is the version that Towers of Light sent me. It was easy to navigate to each day’s reading. The narrator was clear, and he read in a pleasant, engaging way. How fun for kids to hear the Bible in a chronological way!
- The One Year Chronological Bible (NLT) in softcover that came with the player is a great way to coordinate reading and listening at the same time.
- The player has a bookmarking feature, so your child can pick up right where they left off.
For your middle grade kids and teens, there is an option to add a Bible that your child can read while listening. This is a great way to help your child improve their comprehension and their reading skills as they are listening.
This thin player also has the option to add an adorable plush animal to hold the player. You can choose from a raccoon, cat, tiger, lamb, lion, or bear.
