Littles are discovering their bodies, learning to understand what their body parts are used for, and learning about how they can live for God. Our bodies are God’s temple. Paul wrote to the believers at Corinth:
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
It’s important for our young kids to learn to use their bodies in not only an appropriate way, but also in a God-honoring manner.

Abbey Wedgeworth’s Training Young Hearts (The Good Book Company) series of board books for toddlers is both super cute and super valuable. That’s because kids will learn how to honor God with their ears, eyes, feet, mouths, and hands.
The books are well made, with glossy pages, and lift-the-flap stories on each page. (Don’t all toddlers love playing peek-a-boo with lift-the-flap stories?)
Each story tells kids that God made their body parts, and explain what their body parts do. Then, kids learn about important things they can do with their ears, eyes, feet, mouths, and hands. Next, they learn about how they shouldn’t use their bodies.
Kids then learn that Jesus also had ears, eyes, feet, mouths, and hands! He used his body to honor God.
Kids are encouraged to likewise use their bodies to honor God, too, and to serve others well. They are encouraged to trust the Holy Spirit to help them use their bodies to the glory of God!
