I want to thank Words2Remember4Kids for providing me with a copies of three sets of Bible Learning Cards in return for my honest review, and three sets for the giveaway.
When I was young, I attended several Christian schools. I don’t remember my classes or the people I went to school with. But I remember the Word of God ~ the Bible verses that became hidden in my heart in those years. They come back to me at odd (and applicable) times, just like they did through my middle school, high school, and college years. Those were years that I claimed the name of Christ, but did not walk with Him. God’s Word lived in my soul until at some point, I was justified in Him. I took the time to sit down and read the Bible. I know that Scripture was the means for that salvation.
I want that for my kids. Not the part where they walk a painful, selfish path. I want for them to have the Word of God embedded in their souls. It’s one of the reasons I made the Scripture memory section of Bible Road Trip a little intensive. And it’s the reason my middle school aged boys and I are memorizing the book of Romans—one verse a day. It’s also the reason I’m working on designing Scripture Memory Cards to go along with Bible Road Trip.
For the little girls, I just wanted something fun and colorful to work through. They’re too young for a formal curriculum, but they’re the perfect age for memorizing the Bible in small sections. It’s especially helpful in the toddler, preschool, and early elementary years to have something visual with some explanation or application that kids can relate to. That’s why I’m so happy to have found Bible Learning Cards from words2remember4kids.
Each set of cards contains 20 one-hole-punched glossy 5″x7″ cards, along with a book ring. The front side of each card has a full-sized illustration, a topical label, and a Bible reference. The reverse side of each card has the Bible reverence, the verse (NIV and ESV are both used), a cropped image from the illustration, and a devotional explanation or question in child-friendly language. It seemed to me that the little devotional section was helpful, and I didn’t see anything that gave me cause for concern. At the Words2Remember4Kids site, you can flip through examples of each of the cards and read them for yourself.
There are currently three sets of Bible Learning Cards available.
