Check out this great podcast on making Biblical family life practical by Hal and Melanie Young!

I’m a bit of a podcast junkie. I love filling my brain with good information, and there’s really no better way to multi-task while cooking, sewing, cleaning, working out, printable-making, or what-have-you, than by listening to a good podcast while accomplishing a physical task. I had the pleasure of joining Hal and Melanie Young on their podcast, Making Biblical Family Life Practical, to talk about my new book about Martin Luther, and I realized I’ve never told you about this great resource!

First, Hal and Melanie Young are wonderful people with a heart to serve other parents. The parents of eight children (six boys!), the couple are popular speakers, and they’ve also authored two books (with a third to publish soon): Raising Real Men: Surviving, Teaching, and Appreciating Boys and My Beloved and My Friend: How to be Married to Your Best Friend Without Changing Spouses.

The Spiritual Disciplines Calendar for Kids will help your kids develop lifelong spiritual habits!

Raising Real Men is a practical, godly resource on raising boys!

My husband, Ed, our two boys, and I had the opportunity to serve at the Youngs’ booth at the OCEANetwork conference in Portland this summer. They’re just as kind and personable in real life as I’ve found them to be online and on their podcast.

My Beloved and My Friend looks at whether it's really possible for your spouse to be your best friend.

OK, I know you want to hear about the podcast!

Hal and Melanie Young have a practical, engaging radio show on family discipleship!

Hal and Melanie Young discuss a broad range of topics from a practical standpoint, with a biblical worldview. Listening to them share is like getting to sit with a wise couple over dinner. Their mentorship and heart for families translates well to a podcast format, and they’re not afraid to tackle tough topics. The Youngs homeschool, and they cover both parenting and homeschooling topics. Some of the broadcasts that have appeared recently on the Making Biblical Family Life Practical podcast include:

  • The Most Surprising Homeschool Research
  • Depressed Parents, Depressed Kids
  • Homeschooling High School? Sure, Why Not?
  • A Christian Attitude About Work
  • Choosing a College
  • Dealing with a Dishonest Child
  • Family Unity
  • Sibling Rivalry
  • Boys and Noise

One of the things I love about a good podcast is that I can schedule it around my availability and listen as I’m able. The Making Biblical Family Life Practical podcast library is extensive, and you can listen to all of the available episodes at your convenience!

I was really excited and honored to be invited to Hal and Melanie Young’s show to talk about Martin Luther. He was really an amazing man who lived a deeply impactful life. He not only changed the course of the Church—he changed the course of world history! I’d love to have you listen in on our conversation! You’ll find it at: Luther, Reformation, and a New Book! You can learn more about When Lightning Struck! The Story of Martin Luther at WhenLightningStruck.com.

I hope you’ll join us! I’m off to find out more about choosing a college! God bless, friends.

Hal and Melanie Young, authors, spekaers, and podcasters!
